Vocal removal and karaoke in Guitar & Drum Trainer lets you completely or partialy remove vocals or instruments from mixed music.
Unlike some vocal removal or karaoke software, Guitar & Drum Trainer gives you "low level control" or "deep level control" which basically means that you have more power to tweak settings, but at the cost of a few more clicks. The benefit is that with more control, you can filter instruments with greater precision.
Easy Vocal Removal
For super-quick and easy vocal removal, the 1-click "Simple Karaoke Mode" removes all center panned audio, which is where vocal tracks are typically panned in mixed audio. This quick option can be further tweaked to add back in low bass and high frequencies by adjusting the equalizer.
Center panned audio removal usually works well for vocals, bass, and rhythm. However, there are times when center panned audio removal will fail. For these cases, removing non-center panned audio can solve the problem.
Non-Centered Audio Removal
For maximum flexibility, the "Channel Mixer and Advanced Karaoke" mode lets you remove non-center panned audio to filter out instruments that aren't center panned, like lead guitars, with the "Mixer Karaoke" option. This will leave in all centered audio, like vocals or bass guitar, but take out things that the audio engineers panned to the left or right when mixing the recordings.
As with the simple karaoke mode, once the instruments are filtered from the mix, you can then add other instruments back in that were also taken out by adjusting the equalizer for their frequency ranges.
Save Karaoke Options & EQ Settings
Since getting the right settings can take some time, Guitar & Drum Trainer lets you save your karaoke settings along with the EQ settings you used to get things "just right." Restoring your karaoke settings is then 1-click easy. To keep your settings permanently, you can save a GDT song config file for later use.
