I've been listening to Di.fm for a long time now off and on, and it's something that I'd hate to see disappear. Well, greed is back in style and some recent retroactive fees are going to put Di.fm and every other independent web radio station out of business. This isn't good for us - the listeners.

Here's the picture - the United States Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) hiked retroactive royalties up to $5.00 per every dollar of revenue that Di.fm makes! That's not $1.00 of profit - it's $1.00 that YOU and I give to them for their service! Completely insane. Imagine being taxed 500% of what you make at your job!

There's more information about this in the Di.fm blog.

I'd encourage anyone out there to help out. You can donate, buy their service, mail your congressman, or whatever. They've got more about what you can do to help.

If you love music - show some love with a few bucks. You'll be helping a good cause in keeping the music playing!

Cheers,

Ryan

Looks Pandora's being battered too, Ryan.
