So I've got the download coming in now and it's at about 20%. I'm pretty excited to check out these “Harvey Danger” guys as I've never even heard of them before. But they're starting on a very good note by offering their music on the “shareware” marketing model: try-before-you-buy.
Now that's a rarity in the music business. But read their reasons for it. It might be a bit riskier in the music industry than in the software business, but hey - I suppose it's worth a shot.
Now, it may end up being more like “donationware” than “shareware” at the end of the day. So my guess is that they'll end up with somewhere in the 1 in 3,000 people donating, but they've got it done through PayPal which is just super easy to use.
Anways, my download it around 85% now, and I'm dying to check it out. I think I'll give it a spin on the pre-release of ALSong as there are some cool sound effects that are new in it that I'd like to check out.
