For the second year in a row, I was honored to have Guitar & Drum Trainer win the Best Application Using .Net at the Shareware Industry Awards banquet in Denver, Colorado. I was present accept the award, and more than an honor, it was a total thrill to be recognized by industry experts from across the globe again at one of the most prestigious software awards ceremonies in the world.
The banquet table I sat at was filled with winners this year. Here's a picture of the three of us after the awards ceremony:

That's me (Ryan Smyth) on the left. On the right is a friend of mine, Scott Petoff from Meliovation. He won the Best Hobby or Personal Interest award for Vacation Planner. In the center is David Hamel. He won Best Application for Boxer Text Editor.
The picture below has me on the right and Sangwon Chung on the left:

The night had a few more surprises in store for me though. Later on at a private party I was presented with the Silver Faucet Award for 2006 by Scott Swedorski, the founder of Tucows (the original and first software download site on the Internet):

That's Tonya and I posing for another picture. Below is a picture of Hailey, myself, and Tonya again:

Needless to say, it was a great honor and pleasure to receive the Silver Faucet Award, especially as I read the names on the plaque. It's an honor to be placed along side other influential and important people in the software industry.
While this year's Shareware Industry Conference was well worth travelling half-way across the planet to attend, the awards night was definitely the highlight for me.
Peace, Love, and Eternal Groovieness :)

Did Tonya mean for her nipple to be showing?

Hahaha~! I didn't know if anyone would notice Tonya's "talents". :)
But alas, I have no more pictures of Hailey or Tonya. :(
I do have some pictures from a night out with the CoffeeCup crew from last year though... You'd never believe just how good a CoffeeCup shirt can look!

Re: Best Application Using .Net 2nd Year Running & Silver Faucet Award
Dear RM's,
I've downloaded the demo + Net file; but once playing a song - I have no control whatsoever, and then have to crash the computer and reboot. Any comments?
Unfortunately I can't email you through 'help' because I have'nt yet bought the product.

Hello Jon,
You can email me at ryan-renegademinds.com. (replace - with @)
If you adjust the "Performance" setting on the "Controls and Options" screen to about 100, that shoud fix things. It sounds like your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements. While it runs on slower machines, they will have problems unless you adjust the CPU settings in GDT for them.
Regards,
Ryan
