With so many totally cheesy decks, I figured I'd make a really cheesy one too.

This deck relies on 2 spells and 1 land card. And ONLY 2 spells. The deck is almost entirely land! It's legal in Classic and Extended, but not Standard due to the Seismic Assault.

Reliquary TowerTreasure Hunt Seismic Assault

You want to get the Seismic assault out, then use Treasure Hunt to get LOTS of land into your hand. From there, it's just a matter of discarding all your land to kill your opponent.

If you don't have a Seismic Assault on the board, then you must have the Reliquary Tower down so that you can Treasure Hunt to get the Seismic Assault.

In total, you want 1 Island, 1 Reliquary Tower, and 3 Mountains out. If you Treasure Hunt for the Seismic Assault, but get another Treasure Hunt, put more Islands down. Basically, you only want 3 Mountains out, and the rest should be dedicated to letting you Treasure Hunt 1x or 2x. I've had to Treasure Hunt 3x before I got a Seismic Assault.

The main thing that you must do though is mulligan until you get a Treasure Hunt. That's the most important thing. Having a Seismic Assault in your opening hand means nothing without LOTS of land in your hand to do damage. And that's where you use Treasure Hunt. To get that land.

The ideal game goes like this:

  • Turn 1: Island (or Halimar Depths)
  • Turn 2: Reliquary Tower, Treasure Hunt
  • Turn 3: Mountain (Treasure Hunt if you have it)
  • Turn 4: Mountain (Treasure Hunt if you have it)
  • Turn 5: Mountain, Seismic Assault, kill your opponent

The deck almost always wins at 90%+. And usually wins on turn 5, though occassionally it goes to turn 6 or 7.

Here's my basic deck design for it:

Qty Card Name

4

Reliquary Tower

2

Seismic Assault

4

Treasure Hunt

4

Evolving Wilds

2

Halimar Depths

16

Island

23

Mountain

1

Mystifying Maze

4

Terramorphic Expanse

The Halimar Depths are good on the first turn, but that's all. The Mystifying Maze is almost useless, but could prove useful if you have a really bad draw. I threw the deck together very quickly without any tweaking, so there might be some room for improvement, but it works.

You can buy the Seismic Assaults for like $0.60 from a bot in Magic the Gathering Online, while the Treasure Hunts cost something like $0.12 and the Reliquary Tower is $0.08. So, the total deck cost is about $2.00.

And, it is very satisfying to pulverize cheesy white soldier and white weenie decks, along with showing cheesy red decks just how to do damage properly.

Feel free to link here as an example of some super-cheese! But really, try the deck. It's a lot of fun.

Cheers,

Ryan

Re: Cheesy Magic Deck with Turn 5 Kill

It would break the deck. Lands only do 2 damage, so what's the point of doubling 2 when you have 20 land in your hand. :) Muahahaha~!

Re: Cheesy Magic Deck with Turn 5 Kill

ya i was looking at that, the deck has to stay pure for the treasure hunt to find seismic assault. Im switching out the terramorphics for scalding tarn and the evolving wilds for arid mesa.
