More free music for you~! Yep. There's lots of free music out there, and a lot of it is pretty darn good even! ;)

Check out the Free Music Archive for a massive library of free music. Now, a lot of that music isn't totally free as in BSD free, but it's free to listen to at least. A lot is Creative Commons licensed.

Now, not all music is for everyone, but if you like electronic stuff, you may well like "Get Twisted". It's CC 2.0 (Attribution-Noncommercial Share Alike) licensed. So, if you're not using it commercially, and you provide attribution and allow people to share what you create there, then you're good to go. And, Get Twisted is some pretty wicked cool stuff to boot!

You need to sign up to get the most out of the site, but you don't need to sign up at all to start browsing and listening, which is very cool.

The Free Music Archive also lets you embed music from their site directly into your own site or blog with standard OBJECT tags. For example, this code is for Get Twisted:

   1: <object width="300" height="50">
   2: <param value="about:blank" name="movie" />
   3: <param value="track=http://freemusicarchive.org/services/playlists/embed/track/9782.xml" name="flashvars" />
   4: <param value="never" name="allowscriptaccess" />
   5: <embed width="300" height="50" allowscriptaccess="never"
   6: flashvars="track=http://freemusicarchive.org/services/playlists/embed/track/9782.xml"
   7: src="about:blank" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
   8: </embed>
   9: </object>

 Produces the following:

So, all in all, you get some pretty cool free music with a super easy way to share it as well. Just copy & paste the HTML into your own blog.

It's been a while since I've posted about free music sources, but hopefully I'll remember to post some more sources, or if not, maybe just some cool music that I find in one of them.

Cheers,

Ryan
