The Good Lord knows I can't sing to save my life, but there are lots of people who can!
I get a fair number of people asking about how to remove vocals, which is sometimes a tad odd as all the answers are here on the web site. In the section about removing vocals from songs and music, I explain a bit about how to do it, and how to preserve bass and the like. A few words there about audio compression and formats to use for better results.
I've also had some questions about saving music that's been pitch shifted with a different tempo (slowed down music) for use with karaoke or for a vocalist to lay down a vocal track for it and still maintain quality for production. The answer there is to not pitch much and to not slow the music down much. A semi-tone pitch shift and a 5 BPM tempo change (slowed down or speeded up) won't drastically affect things. It's still not ideal, but nobody would ever notice.
Well, I hope those references help a few people.
Cheers,
Ryan
