I've been DYING here in Melbourne without a car. Australia is a big country, and without a car here, getting anywhere is simply a nightmare. Public transportation is good in a very small part of the city, but it's a nightmare anywhere else. Parts of the city get 2 or 3 buses per day... Like that's useful for anyone! 3 buses? Yikes...Even around here where the public transportation is much better, getting anywhere takes an extremely long time. It's 30 minutes to get anywhere very close, and even places that are fairly close take 45 minutes to an hour. Not exactly a very efficient use of time. But... the C280 fell through...

So instead I'm getting an E230. It's quite a nice car, and I'm simply jonesing for the freedom that mobility affords. It's an older car, a 1996, but I really only need it for a couple years, so it should be more than adequate. It will certainly be better than the 1992 Volvo 940 Turbo or the MyVii.

The C280 was a nice car as well, but the people are just simply horrible to deal with. Just stringing me along for over a month! I paid for an RACV inspection that cost $300 and paid for the road worthy that they're legally obliged to do (that was $95), and they just dropped the ball and took off on me. Really... Like how low? They're trying to sell it or not? I had to book the inspections and... sigh... Hand holding really isn't my thing.

Well, lesson learned... The ability to actually follow through on things... Ummm... Let's skip that rant.

But back to the car... tomorrow... freedom day! I'll be spinning around to a few places pretty quickly to pick up things and get some jobs done that I've been wanting to do for, oh, say, about a month or so.
