So I'm refactoring some code (a few thousand lines of it), and pulling out some strings that I'd hard coded (naughty me!), when things just aren't working right.

What happens with strings in Visual Studio resources (resx) is that they are literal. So something like “Kiss me!\nNOW!” will display like:

Kiss me!\nNOW!

Instead of what you probably want:

Kiss me!
NOW!

Blah! So I figure let's do the Shift+Enter thing, and things aren't working so I proceed to fart around with some extremely inelegant hacks. Blech. There's got to be a better way...

Well, the answer is to resize the resource line so that you can see it. I found the answer here, and lo-and-behold, it's from Grant Frisken of Infralution!

I use some of Grant's software and have had him on the .NET Preacher Show before. Fantasitic guy with some great stuff.

Now we can all sing, “It's a small world after all! ...“ :)
