(North Kyungsang Province, South Korea) Last night a drunk driver got in an accident, hitting a pedestrian. Typical hit and run. The next morning when he sobered up a bit, he went back to the scene of the accident and discovered that he had killed someone. He turned himself in at the police station.

The police took him to the hospital morgue to apologize to the family of the person he killed. When he walked in, he saw his mother standing there crying. He had killed his own father.

The man's father was on foot and was crossing the road when his son hit him and fled the scene. Five hours later, the son returned to the scene and then turned himself in, still not knowing who he had hit.

How wacked is that?

  • Guy gets drunk. Fine - lots of us do it.
  • Gets into car - Bad idea.
  • Guy hits a pedestrian - at this point everything has completely gone to Hell, but it gets worse.
  • Guy flees the scene leaving the person he hit to die in the street, not knowing it's his own father.
  • Police take guy to apologize to the family - his mother is standing there crying.

It reads like an episode from the Twilight Zone, almost as if Fate had decided to punish the man for driving away from the scene.

No. This isn't some kind of a sick joke. It happened last night.
