One of those uber-cool sounding techniques - Sweep Picking. Here are some videos to help out with getting started on sweep picking.
There are a ton of videos with guys just shredding, but the sweep picking videos below are mostly instructional to help out. i.e. I've filtered through a lot of showing off. :)
Decent starter video:

This sweep picking video is really good:

Here's a nifty one with Paul Gilbert. Nuff said:

Check out the end of the video for the close ups in this sweep picking tutorial:

This video is very short, but the sweeps are all done to a metronome and very easy to follow. No instruction, but it's slow enough to be an excellent beginner sweep picking video.
Sweep Picking with a Metronome
This guy has an interesting technique to “thumb mute” while he's sweep picking. Video quality isn't the best, but it's all close ups, so that's good:
Another Sweep Picking Video
This is interesting because he's throwing in a pedal tone, which sounds pretty darn cool. Video quality isn't the greatest and the sound isn't the best, but if you can get past that and get to the pedal note in the sweep picking, it's worth watching. Not a beginner video at all - but still worth watching as you can figure it out pretty easily:

Just for fun, I think this guy is speaking Thai, but he's slowed down a little bit and you get a good view of sweep picking index finger movement during the close-ups:
Speaking Thai?
That's probably enough to keep you going for a while. :)
Cheers,
