So I'm listening to TWiT, and they mention this movie that the producer wants people to steal... So.... I go out, get the BitTorrent and steal it. The movie I stole today? Well, you can steal it here. I'm sure that you can steal it elsewhere as well though.
Sicko was a really good watch. But let me preface things a tad...
I am not anti-American. I am most certainly “anti-crap that happens in America” though. I'm Canadian, and it's things like Sicko that make me glad that I'm not American because of stuff like you see in Sicko.
Every once in a while I post something somewhere and someone mistakes me for an American with “that” bias. I don't have “that” bias. I have a distinctly bias of my own. I haven't lived in North America for over a decade, and really don't miss some of the silliness that happens there.
I found out about Sicko from the TWiT podcast that I listen to, and apparently Michael Moore has encouraged people to steal the movie. So I did. I'm glad I did. He's got a great message in it and the fact that he's said that only shows that he's genuine. Hopefully enough people will pay for it though... See below...
The movie is about the poor conditions in American health care and how it's far too commercial. Can't say as I find it offensive. It's very good and I'd recommend that you go out, steal the movie at The Pirate Bay (or another BitTorrent tracker site), then after you see it, take a few friends out to see it. Give Michael a few bucks there to help finance his next movie.
He's doing a great job and deserves support for it. While you or I may not agree with everything that he says, his heart is definitely in the right place and that is something that you just can't say about a lot of people.
Michael Moore has pointed out very well yet another sickness in America. Yeah - I'm Canadian and this kind of stuff just baffles me. I've got my gripes about the Canadian health care system, but that's another story - like Michael mentions in the movie - seems like griping is just a great Canadian past-time. :)
So if you can, go out and steal Sicko then take a friend to see it. I've got a few friends that I'd like to take when it comes out here. I'm sure they'll like it.
Oh - One last thing. There tends to be a bit of a difference between the average American overseas (expats) and the average American in the US. Quite often those overseas are more critical. I leave that for you to figure on, but give it a thought if you're American and have never been overseas.

P.S. One of these days I'll have my rant about the US and how I'm the one that's pro-US while everyone else is anti-US. I'll make sure to rant about both sides though! It's just a matter of balance.
