While I can't say that I'm a country music fan, there is definitely some stuff in there that really just kicks! “Jesse's Name” by Rick Jones in the PSN “A Mix to Dye for” contest is one of those. (Link is a zipped OGG file.)

I've entered the lyrics into ALSong, but I forgot that I was using a pre-release and the lyrics are in the Korean ALSong Lyrics Server, so once the lyrics propagate, they should be available in the English (international) version of ALSong. Ah heck...

Ok - I've entered them into the English one so that you can get them right now. You'll need ALSong to play the lyrics though. If you don't want to download ALSong, here are the lyrics again:

[[ Jesse's Name ]]

[[ Mixed & Recorded by Rick Jones ]]

[[ From the Project Studio Network's ]]

[[ "A Mix to Dye for" contest ]]

In a tattoo shop at the end of May,
Two lovers sit out with no retraint

He swore she was the one from day one,
She swore he made her complete

And in a tattoo shop at the end of May,
Above his heart they carved Jesse's name

The years flew by so fast underneath their feet,
Bills to pay just trying to make ends meet

A buddy ask him why he chose the road that he was on,
He asked how he kept from going insane

And in a little bar at the end of May,
He pulled off his shirt and he showed 'em Jesse's name

Till late one night came a phone call,
That said, "You gotta come home from work"

Cause the baby says it's time for me to go,
And I know it's a little early,
And I thought I could wait,
But baby I can't stand the pain

And in a hospital at the corner of 5th and main,
They gave their little miracle Jesse's name

Seventy years, grey haired and still in love,
Holdin' hands like they were still 18

They both knew Jesse's time was growing short,
Somehow they both chose not to believe

And in a hospital room at the corner of 5th and main,
Oh, he cried the last time Jesse said his name

And in a few lines with daisies,
They laid her in the ground,
As their daughter held the man that they both loved

As the preacheer said his words,
And the choir began to sing,
Oh he felt the pain underneath Jesse's name

Underneath Jesse's name

In a tattoo shop at the end of May,
He remembers the day they carved Jesse's name

It's a beautiful song and well worth checking out. You can get the entire show with another great song at the PSN site.

Well, that's it. I'm off for a very well deserved vacation to sunny Phuket in Thailand! First time there, so it will all be fresh. My sister has been there numerous times though. I am SOOOO looking forward to sun, sand, beach, blue water, and fruity icy drinks! Oh - and of course shopping in the local grocery store - that's one of my favorite things to do when I get outside of Korea. Gotta run to catch that plane! :)

Cheers,

Ryan
