Hi Ryan,
I 've been using GDT4 for a while now and I've noticed a few issues with the program. First off, I'd like to say I love the program. It is extremely useful for transcribing and practicing my guitar.
However there are a few things that are not working correctly.
The saving of files is perhaps the biggest complaint I have. When saving a file, it is kind of tricky in that it is easy to overwrite the wrong file.
I often work on multiple songs at a session. I first open one song and work for a while and if I need to save it, I do it with no problem. However if I open another file to work on it, the file name info from the first file is not correct. What comes up in the save config dialog is the name of the mp3 file. This results in a file name with, for example, "Stairway to Heaven.mp3.gdt". The mp3 extension should be removed by the program. II think there may be some more bug aboos in the file save dialog but I don't recall them off hand.
Also, when opening an audio file, the file opens and says the name of the song on the title bar. This is nice but when opening a config file, this info is not displayed. It just says the program name. Then, if I change the file by opening a config file, the info in the title bar is not refreshed. It will display the program title or the previously opened audio file.
Also, a bug that appears when I use the "loop delay" check box. When I use this, the program will throw an exception and bring up a dialog. I have found that I can ignore this and the prgram keeps running fine. This only happens when the loop delay is used. I won't happen immediately, sometimes it takes a while but it will usually pop up. I don't often use the delay but it is useful for practing a very fast passage.
I thought I would bring this to your attention.
Thanks for a great program.
